More FCP Stadium goodies
I just couldn’t resist:

It seems Portugal and Spain have finally reached an agreement about the configuration of the new highspeed railways connecting the two countries. Unfortuneatly but not surprisingly the configuration sucks:
The map has been drawn by me and is probably not entirely correct but you can get the picture:
Bah, I hope at least it works and it’s finished promptly.
Finally XFce 4 was released. I might take the time to try to replace the oldie but great WindowMaker once again.
XFce 4 claims to be light, nice-looking but not bloated and easily configurable. I guess I’ll have to see it with my own eyes …
Now, I just have to wait for some good soul to create an ebuild for gentoo
Wow, scientists found out what everybody knows for ages. The fact that temperatures fluctuate on a weekly cycle (there are no weekly cycles in nature) show that human activity is affecting the climate.
No kidding. Didn’t you never notice it only rains on weekends.
Scientific American: Workweek Causes Climate Fluctuations The five-day workweek may be affecting the climate, researchers say. Findings published online this week by the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences indicate that daily high and low temperatures fluctuate on a weekly cycle in many locales in direct response to human activity, causing scientists to dub it the weekend effect.
The new F.C. Porto Stadium is almost ready. You can already see the grass (sowed last week) and most of the chairs. I can’t wait to see it in its full 50106 seats glory. The 16th of November is almost here …

It ought to happen sooner or later.
Slashdot | VeriSign Sued Over SiteFinder Service It was only a matter of time, the pundits said, and they were right. Popular Enterprises, LLC., an Orlando, Florida based cybersquatting so-called ’search services’ company, has filed a lawsuit in Orlando federal court against VeriSign, Inc. over VeriSign’s controversial SiteFinder ’service.’ While PopularEnterprises has had a dodgy history of buying up thousands of expired domain names and redirecting them to its Netster.com commercial “search services” site, the lawsuit is most likely a good thing, as it provides one more avenue to pursue in getting VeriSign to terminate SiteFinder. According to the lawsuit, the company contends alleges antitrust violations, unfair competition and violations of the Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act. It asks the court to order VeriSign to put a halt to the service. VeriSign spokesperson Brian O’Shaughnessy said the company has not yet seen the lawsuit and that it doesn’t comment on pending litigation.
I normally don’t post about weblogs I find, specially if they are in Portuguese. But this one really deserves a post. A weblog about child adoption, by someone that walked the path, and wants to help others to follow her footsteps. This is what weblogs are all about.
