Digital Camera
Back from vacations and thinking about buying a digital camera. Not an easy decision. I want something around 500 euros that has at least a 3 Mega Pixels CCD and 3x optical zoom. Small form factor is a must have. I’ll use this post to list the cameras I find interesting so it will change over time. Feel free to post any comments about the cameras:
- Canon Digital Ixus 400 - (526) - I have a very good impression of the Ixus series. Small and powerfull but more expensive than the P92.
- Pentax Optio S - (401) - The smaller one, Pentax created a new lens design to achieve this kind of minitaturization. Some bad reviews about image quality and beeing fragile.
- Pentax Optio 450 - (590)
- Pentax Optio 550 - (604)
- Sony DSC-P10 - (519)
- Sony DSC-P12 - (586) - A bit more expensive than the P92 but has a smaller form factor (not as small as the Ixus).
- Sony DSC-P72 - (335) - Nice alternative to the P92 but much cheaper. Only loses on the CCD but do I really need 5 Mega Pixels?
- Sony DSC-P92 - (427) - 5 Mega Pixels not too expensive and small. Good reviews too. Sony also has the nice unlimited size movies feature and look very solid.
- Fujifilm Finepix S304 - (376) - 6x zoom but big form factor
The Sony DSC-P92 is my favourite so far … with the Ixus 400 (review) in a close second place. Hmm, just realized how small the Optio S (review) is …
