ALA (back again) has a nice article on the use of access keys to enable mouseless navigation in the web.

A List Apart: Accesskeys: Unlocking Hidden Navigation The accesskey can be explicitly displayed, appearing in brackets immediately after each link. This is very easy to implement, and doesn’t require users to refer to a reference section before being able to use the accesskeys. However, It does force you to change both the content and design of your pages to accommodate this information. Displaying the accesskey assignments might not be relevant or useful to everyone, and some people might prefer that it not appear onscreen at all times.
