Fantas: 28 Days Later and Toy Love

My first night at href="http://www.fantasporto.online.pt/">Fantas 2003: Went to
see Toy Love and was
lucky enough to get a couple invitations to href="http://us.imdb.com/Title?0289043">28 Days Later.

Toy Love, directed by href="http://us.imdb.com/Name?Sinclair,%20Harry%20(II)">Harry
Sinclair (the same guy of href="http://us.imdb.com/Title?0249893">The Price of Milk), is
a fast paced romantic comedy revolving around the theme of
infidelity. All in all a nice film, much better than any Hollywood
romantic comedy.

I was expecting much more from 28 Days Later. Directed by
Danny Boyle
(Trainspotting and
Shallow Grave), it
was one of my must see movies of this Fantas. The film has
a promissing start (seeing London completely empty and noiseless at
the middle of the day is breathtaking), but a poor script (typical
of an Horror Movie) kind of ruins the film.

I’m looking forward for href="http://blog.portugalmail.pt/K/">Sergio’s reviews for
these two films as he has promissed he would write about them.
Update:: href="http://blog.portugalmail.pt/K/archive/001822.html#001822">Here
href="http://blog.portugalmail.pt/K/archive/001823.html#001823">they
are (some spoilers ahead).

By the way, 28 Days Later kept reminding me of Nobel prize
winner Jose Saramago’s book href="http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/1860466850/andrerestiv04-21">
Blindness (Ensaio sobre a cegueira in Portuguese),
only the book is much better (as usual).

    Later was a disappointment. It’s not that this is not a nice movie;
